Hamilton24 Filmmakers are Eligible for the New Cinema Hamilton Awards!
It's an exciting time for film in Hamilton! We now have our own local Film Awards as a part of the Art Gallery of Hamilton's annual World Film Festival! The awards will be presented on the final night of the AGH festival, and will be a critical acclamation of the burgeoning film scene in the bay city. The mission statement for the new Cinema Hamilton Film Awards reads as follows: To foster the growth of the film industry in Hamilton by celebrating artistic excellence and technical achievement. Here's the best part: Participation in the Hamilton24 Festival and other participating film festivals in Hamilton ensures eligibility for filmmakers for the awards!
Last Day for Early-Bird Registration Rate!
Today is the final day of our $50 early-bird registration period! At 5 PM today, the rate will jump to $75 per team. Be sure to get your registration in as soon as possible to save the extra money! Remember, you don't need your full team finalized to submit a registration - just complete the form as completely as possible. If you do have any minors on your team, we will have additional forms for them in your registration packets to be distributed at the kick-off meeting on June 1. Also, as of today, we now have a new addition to the 1st prize award: $500 in CASH! (more to come on this!)
Registration is Open!
Gather your friends, family, classmates, colleagues, and pets, and build the leanest, meanest filmmaking machine you can! Then click on the top right tab of the H24 website to register your team online. It's fast and easy, and the fee will remain only $50 per team until April 30th. After that, the fee jumps to $75/team. Every film completed in the festival will be screened at one of the screenings. Beyond that - who knows? You might make it into the Top 10! You might even win something. If nothing else, we promise you'll have fun. See you at the Kick-off meeting!
2012: Building for Beyond!
The Hamilton24 Festival 2012 has been scheduled for June 1 - 8 in the heart of Downtown Hamilton! However, we regret to announce that we are putting the Fashion, Dance, Music, and Visual Arts Events on hold for one year. This year, we will only be running our signature Film event. We're putting the other events on haitus for 2012 for two reasons: 1. To make the transition from being an indoor, ticketed festival to being a FREE outdoor festival, and subsequently, 2. to build the capacity needed to reintroduce all of the events again in 2013 in the same free outdoor festival model. What this means is that there are No.More.Tickets. Admission is free for everyone. When we bring back the other events in 2013, they too will all be unticketed, FREE events! Imagine our Fashion Event taking over a street downtown, our live Music Event in an open air venue, and the Dance event on a stage on in our downtown core - all major public events that everyone can attend!
